Facing fear lead to self growth!

Change is constant. My endeavors growing up proved this to be true. Domestic darkness, the rotation of rentals to shambles to unmet essential needs. After acknowledging the abnormalities in my homestead, I felt a calling to rise above it. I was able to complete a lot of firsts from college, family planning to starting a business. I found that facing fears lead me to self growth. Albeit on paper, I had accomplished a lot per society standards I still felt unsettled. Once I began looking within, I began uncovering all of my concealed emotional wounds. Finally I began to feel the well sought after freedom and peace.

You have to do the work to face fears.

There is a lot of work that goes into finding your true self. It’s easy to label yourself based on external attributes such as looks, belongings and or associations. Positive or negative. External attributes do not signify who you really are. You are unquestionably more than your attributes. It’s inside that matters- deep inside. The inside that only you truly know. Particularly in my childhood journey I held my true self in and it felt so uncomfortable to discover that self again. Against the Grain – Paperback – B&N My kids have a game they play where one of them will lay down on the floor with their arms crossed holding their shoulders. The other kid with sit on the crossed arms forcing the initial child to authentically laugh- not a staged laugh- not a hesitation… they just laugh! That’s the true self you are seeking!

Shine your light to face fears for self growth!

Stepping into my light began by digging deep within and learning more about me… the authentic me. The me that I held inside and worried if “she” met social standards. Finally, I shined a light on the fear that held me back where I thought was “safe”. By shining a light on my fear I could see the exact direction I was supposed to go. It was facing fears that let me self growth!

I’m committed encourage others to shine their light on fear through my book, Facebook group, speaking engagements, mentoring and this blog! Come grow with me! Home
